The sculptures of Not Bott (1927-1998), who left behind an impressive body of work, are exhibited in the Schams district mill in Zillis. The engine room can also be visited.
The district of Schams acquired the "Susta vis-à-vis Pension Conrad in Zillis" in 1918 to set up a mill.
The electric Ammann mill (Langenthal) with its barley hulling mill at Hauptstrasse 10 in Zillis was in operation from 1919 to 1968. Today, the machine room also houses a barley crusher made by Bucher of Niederweningen in 1940 and a steel reseeding machine made by F. Neuhaus, Eberswalde (former GDR) from the 1930s. The machines are no longer operational. However, they are cultural artefacts with a fascinating industrial design. The last Schamser Landsgemeinde sold the building in 2014.
