A mountain in the river, Glass Pass
In 1910, the end of Lake Lüschersee was sealed at Heinzenberg. The lake basin was drained. However, the end of Lake Lüschersee is only one part of the exciting history of landslides on the Heinzenberg.

Forests are among the most diverse habitats in Switzerland. One third of the country's surface area is covered by forest, this area is surrounded by approx. 117,000 km of forest edge and the forest area is increasing annually by about the area of Lake Thun. Over 20,000 animal species, countless plants and fungi, lichens and mosses are at home here. The new "Forest Diversity" campaign draws attention to this.
