Start of the Viamala Gorge season: Open daily from March 29, 2025 - Experience the impressive gorge up close!
The time has come again: the Viamala Gorge is starting its new season! From March 29, 2025 to November 2, 2025, the impressive natural monument will be open to visitors every day.
Opening hours:
- March 29 - April 30: daily from 09:00 to 18:00
- May to September: daily from 08:00 to 19:00
- October 1 - November 2: daily from 09:00 to 18:00
Important: Access to the gorge is possible up to 30 minutes before closing time.
The Viamala Gorge is a unique natural monument that was formed thousands of years ago by glacial ice and the waters of the Hinterrhein. Today, the up to 300-metre-high, smoothly polished rock faces, millennia-old whirlpools and spectacular bridge constructions are impressive. A fascinating excursion destination - even in bad weather!
Viamala guided tours
Every Thursday from mid-July to mid-August at 2 pm, the Viamala Gorge and its fascinating transit history are presented in a guided tour. Can also be booked for groups on request.
Viamala Notte
Erwin Dirnberger brings many figures from the past back to life in the open stage space of the visitor center and accompanies the audience down into the nocturnal gorge with original quotes and songs.
