Many attractive hiking trails make the Viamala Gorge a meeting point for hikers from near and far. The numerous trail variants offer the right hiking experience for every taste.
Veia Traversina
The real star of the Viamala trails is the Veia Traversina. It is part of the famous viaSpluga cultural and long-distance hiking trail and largely follows the original Roman route. The passages over the spectacular bridge constructions of the Traversinersteg and the Punt da Suransuns are particularly impressive. Detailed information about the tour can be found below.

Parking lot Marktwiese Thusis
There is a large parking lot at the southern entrance to Thusis village, which is an excellent starting point for a hike through the Viamala Gorge (CHF 0.50/hour).

Here you will find the visitor center and the stairs down into the gorge. There are snacks, ice creams, drinks, chocolates, souvenirs, technical and entertainment literature and various local specialties. Limited parking spaces are available directly at the visitor center.
