The beginnings of the Thusis swimming pool date back to the 1920s. After the founding of the Thusis swimming pool cooperative, a bathing pond was created that was around four times larger than today's pools.

The 1st bathing season was officially opened on July 14, 1929. In 1962/63, the pond was replaced by a new, very modern swimming facility for the time. In 1980, the technology of the swimming pool was completely renovated.

The toilet facilities and changing rooms were completely renovated in 2012. A year later, the ticket office, kiosk, restaurant and storage rooms were rebuilt. The last renovation was carried out in autumn 2016 and spring 2017 with an extensive pool refurbishment. Today, Badi Thusis is fresh and friendly with a modern infrastructure.

The Thusis Swimming Pool Cooperative S.G.T. is supported by the residents of the sponsoring municipalities in the region with operating contributions and a deficit guarantee. Thanks to the financial support of this sponsoring body, it has also been possible to carry out the conversion and renovation work in recent years.

Residents of the sponsoring municipalities benefit from reduced admission prices at the local rate. The sponsors include the municipalities of Cazis, Domleschg, Flerden, Fürstenau, Masein, Rothenbrunnen, Scharans, Sils i.D., Thusis, Tschappina and Urmein.
