Reopening of the Ferrera Mining Museum

With a festive opening ceremony, theater performance, and cocktail reception, the Innerferrera Mining Museum will unveil its newly designed exhibition in April, inviting visitors to rediscover the region's mining history.

The mountains of Ferrera, Schams, and Rheinwald a rich history: mining has been practiced here for several centuries. The newly designed exhibition at the Innerferrera Mining Museum brings this cultural heritage to life.

On a historical tour, visitors discover the development of mining in the region, learn about early mining methods, and gain insight into the life and work of miners. The exhibition combines history, landscape, and craftsmanship to create an exciting experience for locals and guests alike.

Vernissage

On Saturday, April 4, 2026, the newly designed exhibition at the Innerferrera Mining Museum will be officially opened. The ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the Innerferrea schoolhouse and will be followed by refreshments. Registration is not required.

A special highlight is the premiere of the play "Der Schmerz vom Erz – Erinnerungen der Heiligen Barbara" ( The Pain of Ore – Memories of Saint Barbara ) by Rita Juon and Mario Nicca. The play takes the audience on an impressive journey to the reopening of the museum and brings to life personalities who have shaped mining in the region.
