Upper via Mala

The viaMala Alta is a multi-day guided ski tour from Wergenstein over the Splügen Pass to Bivio. Accompanied by an experienced ski tour guide from the Grischa Mountain Sports School, you will experience high alpine landscapes, impressive crossings, and varied route options. Thanks to organized luggage transport, you can travel with a light backpack and concentrate fully on the experience.

The viaMala Alta leads in five stages from Wergenstein to the SAC Cufercal Hut, continuing via Splügen and Montespluga to Bivio. Along the way, you will encounter impressive peaks such as Gelbhorn, Surettahorn, Piz Tambo, and Piz Spadolazzo. Each stage offers new scenic impressions and exciting route sections that can be adapted depending on conditions. Overnight stays are in carefully selected accommodations, from mountain huts to alpine inns. The combination of alpine surroundings, personal guidance, and well-coordinated logistics makes the tour an impressive winter experience.

Season

The tour will take place on two dates:

  • February 8 to 13, 2026
  • March 22 to 27, 2026

The course will take place with a minimum of four participants.

Conditions and safety

The route will be adjusted by the Grischa Mountain Sports School based on the current snow and avalanche conditions. The tour takes place in high alpine terrain, which is why the assessment of the ski tour guide is decisive.

Public transport ticket included

When you book the ViaMala Alta, the public transport ticket for the journey from Switzerland to Wergenstein and the return journey from Bivio is already included. Start your ski tour relaxed and return home comfortably and free of charge throughout Switzerland after your adventure.

Ski and splitboard tours in open terrain are at your own risk. Liability claims of any kind against Viamala Tourismus and the authors are excluded. Climbing routes requires good physical condition, serious preparation and technical knowledge of mountain sports. For safe mountain sports, Viamala Tourism recommends training under expert supervision or guided tours by trained mountain guides.
