Innerferrera Mining Museum

In the Schamsertal valley, in the areas of Ferrera, Schams and the Vorderer Rheinwald, there are deposits of raw materials that have helped the valley communities achieve a certain prosperity for centuries. The first documented mention of ore mining dates back to 1605, but it can be assumed that people were already exploiting the ore deposits much earlier.
The Hinterrhein Ore Mines Association has been in existence since December 13, 2009 and has set itself the goal of preserving the existing and presumed historical witnesses to ore mining, making them accessible to the interested public and coordinating the research, preservation and maintenance of the historical facilities.
