With the new Dragon Trail, Splügen is gaining a fun family attraction right in the heart of the historic Oberdorf. Together with Schorsch the Dragon, children and adults embark on a mysterious journey through the village’s history.
An adventure for the whole family
The Dragon Trail takes visitors on an interactive walking tour through Splügen. At seven stations, families work together to solve puzzles, collect stamps, and discover fascinating stories about the village, its history, and its unique location along the historic trade route.
The story centers on Schorsch the Dragon. Long ago, his ancestors left behind a mysterious legacy in Splügen. But the clues are scattered throughout the village. Anyone who wants to help Schorsch should follow the stops, solve the puzzles, and get closer to the mystery step by step.
Discover Splügen Through Play
The roughly two-hour walking tour combines exercise, history, and the fun of solving puzzles. The starting point is at the former customs house on Splügenpassstrasse, where you can also pick up a free adventure map.
Anyone who has collected all the stamps can look forward to a little dragon surprise at the end. It can be picked up during regular business hours at select locations in Splügen.
Practical Information
The Dragon Trail is about 1 kilometer long, free to access, and suitable for families with children ages five and up. The trail is open year-round and can easily be combined with other activities in Splügen—such as a visit to the Splügen Castle Ruins or the “Rheinwald ” Museum.
