“Cows in Love”
At the Birkenhof, the prickly maid Annarös (Luzia Kollegger) and the grumpy farmhand Nöldi (Patrick Breitenmoser) argue every day. They even forget about their work because of it. But that’s not the only problem facing farmer Heiri (Ivan Breitenmoser). His bull has completely lost interest in the cows. His breeding operation is on the verge of ruin.
Luckily, the two neighboring sisters, Ursi (Romana Rusterholz) and Antonia (Marlis Schircks), have found a “love potion for cattle” online. And so the product from China makes its way to the Birkenhof.
Meanwhile, carpenter Hans-Joggi (Ivan Locher) is repairing a jammed little door in the farmhouse parlor. He’s just as stuck himself, even though he’d love to have a wife.
Nöldi is there to support him with advice and a helping hand. And soon Hans-Joggi has the chance to try out his pickup lines. But the two schnapps distillers, Vreni (Petra Federspiel) and Käthi (Marisa Crameri), who’ve come to deliver an order, show little enthusiasm. Nöldi, on the other hand, is all the more thrilled when his childhood sweetheart Susanne (Livia Umiker) unexpectedly shows up at the Birkenhof and tries to persuade him to go on vacation together. Which, in turn, infuriates Annarös.
Maybe the bull isn’t the only one on the farm who could use a little love potion.
