Domleschg Summer Concerts: Concert 4, “Finale con Grandezza.”
One last time, the Church of Tomils opens its doors to a tradition that has shaped the musical landscape of Graubünden for nearly five decades: To conclude the Domleschg Summer Concerts, the arguably most famous chamber music work ever written for a mixed octet—Franz Schubert’s Octet in F Major, D803—will be performed. This monumental masterpiece, in which Schubert combines the lightness of the divertimento with the drama of grand symphonic music, takes on a special radiance in the unique acoustics of Tomils Church—transparent, warm, and with a spatial clarity that few venues can offer. The Ensemble Oktoplus, consisting of outstanding musicians from the NDR Radio Philharmonic (Hanover), will bring this memorable series to a close; with their incomparable sound and stylistic finesse, they guarantee an extraordinary concert experience. A farewell filled with sound and soul—the final chapter of a concert series that has made Domleschg a hub for musical encounters since 1978.
