Romansh Weekend in Wergenstein

The Romansh language is an important part of Graubünden’s cultural diversity. From July 10 to 12, 2026, visitors to Wergenstein will have the opportunity to experience the Romansh dialect of Sutsilvan right where it is spoken: in the heart of the stunning mountain landscape of the Muntogna da Schons.

This weekend course is specifically designed for beginners with no prior knowledge of the language. In a relaxed atmosphere, participants learn the basics of Sutsilvan, practice simple conversations, and gain insight into everyday expressions and regional culture.

 

Bringing Together Language, Culture, and Nature

The Romansh Weekend combines hands-on instruction with authentic experiences in the region. The course takes place at the Hotel Capricorn in Wergenstein. Classes are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. each day. The program is rounded out by shared meals, cultural insights, and time to explore the surrounding area.

The result is a weekend that not only provides an introduction to the language but also allows you to experience the connection to the landscape, the culture, and the people of Muntogna da Schons.
