On Sunday, June 28, 2026, the mountain pass road between Splügen (CH) and Campodolcino (IT) will be closed to motorized traffic and open to anyone who wants to conquer the pass under their own power.
With around 7,500 participants, last year’s event was a huge success and created some unforgettable moments. We’re expecting many enthusiastic participants again this year.

How to get there: Take the Rhaetian Railway to Thusis, then continue by PostBus directly to Splügen.
Important: A reservation via the SBB app is mandatory for bicycle transport by PostBus! No transportation possible without a reservation. Additional connections are only visible from Thusis.
- 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.: Road closure between Splügen and the Splügen Pass
- 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.: Road closure between Campodolcino and the Splügen Pass
- Starting at 11:00 a.m.: Food and drink stand by Speluca in Splügen (Google Maps location)

Social Ride at the Splügen Pass
All female cyclists who’d like to join other women for a ride along the car-free route up the Splügen Pass are warmly invited to join the las ciclistas Social Ride. Every bike, every pace, and every woman is welcome!
Meeting point: 10:30 a.m. at the Splügen festival grounds, near the Viamala Tourism booth
The "Einfach für Retour" public transport offer from PostBus and the Rhaetian Railway applies to the Splügen Free Pass. You buy a single ticket for the outward journey, stamp it at the festival site and can use it to travel back free of charge.

Important note: Bike transport is available only with a reservation made via the SBB app! Additional routes are displayed only if you first select “Via” in the route search and then enter “Thusis.” They do not appear in a direct search, such as Zurich–Splügen.
Splügen can be reached from Chur and Mesocco via the A13 motorway. Parking is available at the Splügen-Tambo Bergbahnen car park.
