Latin Travel!

With its concert project “¡viajes latinos!”, the Cazis Brass Band, under the direction of Florentin Setz, sets off a musical fireworks display and transports the audience into the passionate and colorful world of Latin American music. Spirited rhythms, rousing melodies, and emotional soundscapes characterize the concert program, which ranges from fiery mambos to melancholic tangos.

A special highlight is the performance by the internationally renowned accordion virtuoso Yves Moulin. This charismatic musician from Valais is a master at bringing out the full range of the accordion’s sound. Among other works, he will present the “Concerto No. 1 ‘Entre Ombre et Lumière’ for chromatic accordion and brass band,” a gripping piece that thrives on dramatic contrasts and impressively showcases the versatility of his instrument. The piece was written exclusively for Yves Moulin by Swiss composer Ludovic Neurohr.

In addition to this solo highlight, the audience can look forward to other works that reflect the musical diversity of Latin America. With a southern zest for life, the Brass Band Cazis immerses itself in the soundscapes of Mexico, Argentina, and other countries in South and Central America, promising an evening full of emotion, virtuosity, and musical discoveries.
