Exclusive 4-day table or bed building workshop at the TM joinery in Zillis/GR. The workshop offers the unique opportunity to build your own table or bed under expert guidance. Whether you are an experienced DIY enthusiast or a beginner - our workshop is an experience for everyone!

The workshop includes an exciting supporting program with an exclusive excursion to the nearby forest, where an experienced forester provides interesting information about nature, native trees and the wood value chain.

Workshop details

1. Preliminary meeting and introduction to wood
   Saturday, November 1, 2025
   • We discuss the different types of wood, their properties and possible uses
   • Design selection: We present various models and help with design selection
   • Determining the shape and size and selecting the type of wood

2. Selection of the material at the timber merchant
   Friday, November 14, 2025
   • Selecting the boards and beams on site at the regional timber merchant

3. Table/bed construction workshop
   4 days from Wednesday January 7 to Saturday January 10, 2026
   • Tips and tricks for a stable and aesthetic table or bed construction
   • Introduction to the workshop and occupational safety
   • Cutting, preparation and gluing of table tops or bed planks
   • Experience how the product is machined on the CNC milling machine
   • Assembling the bed or table and the connecting elements
   • Surface treatment (sanding and/or oiling)

4. Forest and wood value chain supporting program with the local forester
   Friday January 9, 2026
   • Getting to know the different tree species in our forest
   • Information on the ecological and economic importance of forests
   • Wood value chain: how wood is processed from the tree trunk to the finished product. This includes aspects such as logging, transportation, processing in sawmills and joineries
