Panel discussion: Sites worth protecting in the Alps
Free of charge
Splügen was awarded the Wakker Prize 30 years ago - a milestone in Swiss building culture. As part of the Federal Inventory (ISOS), Splügen stands for living history, identity and quality in the Alpine region. Building culture here is more than just aesthetics: it creates atmosphere, arouses emotions and attracts people who are looking for authenticity. But how can this value be communicated sustainably - in the area of conflict between tourism, development and the everyday lives of the locals?
Experts:
- Marcia Haldemann: Deputy Head of the Building Culture Section, Federal Office of Culture
- Ludmilla Seifert: Head of Bündner Heimatschutz
- Sandra Bühler-Krebs: Professor of Architecture and Site Design FHGR
- Ivano Iseppi: Managing Director of the architectural firm Iseppi/Ganzoni
- Santiago Espitia: Associate at Herzog & de Meuron
Moderation: Onna Rageth: scientific project manager FHGR
The event is part of the supporting program of the exhibition "Splügen, award-winning - 30 years of the Wakker Prize".
No reservation required.
The exhibition is a joint project of the Bündner Heimatschutz and the municipality of Rheinwald. It can be seen until summer 2026 in "Stall13" in the upper village of Splügen (address: Stall13, Oberdorf 13, 7435 Splügen).
