Design on the Rhine: Bodenblicke - in the Bodenhaus in Splügen

Each carpet is unique, hand-woven from local materials. Hugo Zumbühl works as a textile designer in his studio in Felsberg.

For 20 years, Hugo Zumbühl and his business partner, Peter Birsfelder, produced hand-woven carpets under the label "*teppich-art-team". These were sold in Switzerland and abroad and won various awards, e.g. the Swiss Design Award (1st prize in the textile category). Hugo Zumbühl continues to develop exclusive carpets, which are produced by two hand weavers in Switzerland.

In the Bodenhaus Hotel, carpets are exhibited that show the variety of uses of various natural materials (alpaca hair & Engagier sheep's wool, goat hair & Bündner sheep's wool, hemp & goat hair, hemp & coconut twine, upcycled wool yarn).

As part of Design am Rhein, a sample for the use of "Fluss-Garn" will be shown on Friday, June 28 at the Riders Restaurant in Laax during the design dinner.
