We have compiled the most important information for planning the Säumerweg tour below. If you have any further questions or tips, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Advance booking deadline
The arrangement can be booked with us up to 3 working days (Mon-Sat) before arrival at the latest, as long as rooms are still available. We recommend an early reservation.
Cancellation conditions
In the event of changes at short notice, rebookings or the cancellation of a reservation, the costs incurred will be charged.
Route
The Avers mule track is a white-red-white marked mountain hiking trail. The route from Avers via the historic Bergalga mule tracks to Soglio requires alpine experience and surefootedness. Appropriate equipment suitable for the weather is strongly recommended. Insurance is the responsibility of the individual participant. The tours are not accompanied.
Stage times
Please note that the stage times given are approximate times without any refreshment breaks or sightseeing. Depending on your pace, the times may be exceeded. In any case, we recommend that you allow enough time for the individual stages, as there is plenty to see and marvel at along the way.
Signalization
The Avers mule track is a white-red-white marked mountain hiking trail.
Border crossing Switzerland-Italy
A valid identity card or passport is required to cross the border.
Dogs
Dogs must be registered at the time of booking and are subject to a charge (from CHF 10.00/night). Please note that not all hotels accept dogs. Dogs must be muzzled on public transport in Italy.
Some short passages lead over gratings. We recommend that you bring dog shoes.
Wellness
Relax after a strenuous day in the Andeer mineral baths after the first stage.
SOGLIO has been producing high-quality body care from natural Alpine raw materials in Bregaglia since 1979. As part of the package, you will receive a voucher* for a jar of Valserbalsam - perfect for regeneration after the descent to Soglio.
*Redeemable in the SOGLIO store (Wed-Sat, 11am-5pm) or in Castasegna (Mon-Fri, 8am-12pm & 1.30pm-6pm).

The return journey from Chiavenna by public transport is included. The return journey can be made either by PostBus over the Splügen Pass to Splügen and on to Thusis or by PostBus and the Rhaetian Railway via St. Moritz/Engadin back to Thusis.
